Oxygem

Oxygem

The Oxygem association is a mutual aid group, it welcomes people suffering from mental illness and/or isolation since its creation in 2011.
With the aim of breaking the solitude, it offers members the opportunity to get together for a meal, a coffee, a play and/or a discussion, according to their wishes. We also propose different outings. The MAG is managed by the members themselves, thus allowing them to regain their autonomy. An employee helps them.
The MAG is involved in various actions that protect the voice of the people concerned.

For two years, the members, accompanied by two employees, worked on a board game. The project was born during the Hacking Health 2019 hackathon in Lyon, and received the "favorite" prize. A role-playing game which is part of the mental health register.

This game presents character profiles inspired by the life experiences of MAG members, which must be appropriated in order to achieve "well-being" objectives. To do this, each player, in turn, must pick an "activity" card (5 categories of activities: family/friends, social support, leisure/day-to-day life, health/well-being, accomplishment), then play it with a "mood" card (happy, anxious, etc.). A mood that must be found by the other players!

It is built by and for concerned people. It allows to link people: care teams, cared persons and their entourage. This, by sharing experiences in a playful way, and thus opening up dialogue/speech.
A tool to de-stigmatize mental health issues for the general public, by allowing the player to put himself in the position of a person who has had a difficult time.
