Nicolas Maréchal

A mathematician by training and a programmer by vocation, Nicolas Maréchal has been playing games since his childhood. It is by playing with their children that Nicolas and his wife Carine rediscovered the joy of moments shared around a game, and also experienced the pleasure of transmitting their playfulness.
In 2003, Nicolas created Jeux de NIM within a non-profit association and, together with his wife, organized regular games nights as well as numerous activities in schools and local festivities. Simultaneously Nicolas created the NIM Games website to share this fun experience online. The site has now become a key source of advice for shops, game libraries, non-profit organizations, schools and of course the general public, with over 1.5 million visits every year.
In 2006 Jeux de NIM took a step forward and opened a specialized store in Enghien, in the Belgian province. For 4 years, Jeux de NIM has been organizing its own annual festival on more than 1000m² and attracts many visitors from Belgium and France. Despite its small size and remote location, Jeux de NIM attracts publishers, authors and illustrators to its regular activities. They adhere to our very simple philosophy of awakening new players, like we have been doing from the first day with our children.
