In 2013, three friends from Lyon got together. One of them had created a board game, so they decided to embark on the crazy adventure of publishing it themselves... They decided to create a company ("une Boite") in the boardgame industry ("de Jeu").
After years of ups and downs and hard work, the projects kept coming. Present in France and internationally through our crowdfunding campaigns and the export of our projects, we gather gems from around the world, working with French and foreign authors, or localizing successes sold in other countries for the French market.
Today, La Boite de Jeu is made up of five people who work every day to bring you more and more games that we love and, we hope, that you love as much as we do!
This year, at our booth (08.01), discover Crabs vs. Octopuses: a discard game for 2 players, with 2 game modes (symmetrical or asymmetrical). Take on the role of one of these two species and fight for dominance over the reef! By playing one card per turn, always increasing on top of the last value played, be the first to have no cards left in your hand or deck! Timing, malice, strategy, and of course the powers of your cards will be necessary to win this ruthless duel.
You can also come and test an advanced prototype of the expansion for the excellent Insurrection: Spectres! Join the rebellion trying to remove the tyrannical Queen Kristin from the throne (or plot in the shadows to keep her in power by increasing Corruption). The goal of the game will still be to have the best hand of cards at the end of the game (by betting on the victory of the side of Good or Evil), but new cards are being added to the People. Discover the Specters, their new powers, and the exclusive mechanics they add to the gaming experience. Playable by 2 to 6 players, for games lasting 20 to 30 minutes, ages 10 and up: come and check it out!
