DAMIEN DESNOUS

As a lonely child who developed his imagination through Lego and insect watching, Damien stepped into the game universe in secondary school. As a member of a role-playing games Club he discovered a whole world of possibilities with role-playing games such as Rolemaster, Bitume, Donjon & Dragon… and board games like Colons de Catane, Zargos, Fief 2 and also the fun of live action role-playing games.
Since then he has never settled on any one of these categories. Passionate about the role-playing game Nephilim, Damien became an author for this “contemporary occult” universe that recently released its fifth edition. He also got involved in the writing of role-playing games with different environments such as Confrontation or Retrofutur. After participating in several live action role-playing games, he started writing his own stories in a style that many experts will qualify as “novel-like”. Regarding board games, Damien went from entertaining children at a day camp to volunteering for a nonprofit games organization and naturally ended up working at the Sortilèges game shop in Angers.
He later migrated towards the beautiful city of Nantes and became the shop manager. From that moment he got more and more involved with games festivals and fairs, and became a member of the jury for Double 6 (Game Festival of Saint-Herblain) and at the Creator’s Trophy (FLIP festival). Damien is very much into party games or light strategy games and usually has more fun facilitating games than playing them. Today Damien is committed to “Groupement des boutiques ludiques” and participates in the Game Selection committee that publishes the list of the best newly released games at the end of each year. Beside the gaming world Damien has other hobbies such as apiculture and kinball which is an emerging sport from Quebec.
